WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA?
Postpartum doulas provide families information and support on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing, and coping skills for new parents. They also help with holding a new baby while mom takes a nap or a shower, with light housework (dishes, laundry, light cleaning, organizing), fix a meal, help incorporate an older child into this new experience, watch older children, bring groceries.

Postpartum Doula
Very needed help during first weeks of baby's life. You're transitioning into your new role, new life. Both you and your partner might be stretched thin. Whether it's your first baby or not, it's always a huge adjustment. In today's world, we don't always get help that we might need, sometimes because of one's job, other times financial situations and more. There's no shame in asking for help, quite the opposite because since the beginning of times women had this "village" we so often talk about. It was lost on the way. A postpartum doula is there for you to support you mentally, listen to you if you need to talk, care for your baby and also help around the house. You decide when you need that help and for how long. In traditional Eastern cultures, Bali for example, women get that kind of help from their families during first 40 days after birth when they don't do anything around the house. We can adjust everything to your needs.
My postpartum doula services can include (depending on your needs):
* Light baby-related tasks like washing and folding baby's clothes, washing bottles/breast pump, getting your diaper bag ready, and so on.
* Making nutritious warming postpartum meals - very important for your healing.
* Holding your baby while you take a shower or a nap - or holding YOU, if needed.
* Helping with babywearing - showing you how to use wraps, carriers, how to safely co-sleep, and so on.
* Baby care - bath, diaper change, feeding if baby isn't breastfeeding, etc.
* Tips on how to care for yourself during this time - you matter and your well-being is extremely important.
* Helping process and heal any emotional trauma - I can provide my shoulder for you to cry on if needed. I can also laugh with you! Either way, I'm here to listen, if you need to talk and process your birth experience regardless of it being positive or negative.
* My postpartum herbal tea blend - excellent for support in healing.
* Unlimited hugs if needed :)
Support and coaching are also available online. For more information, please feel free to contact me.
$30 per hour (discounts available when purchased in a package larger than 10 hours and can be spread over time to your liking).
Can be purchased as a gift card, which would be great for a baby shower gift!
If you're not sure how many hours you might need or your finances are limited, don't hesitate to message me using the contact form on my page or by emailing me at [email protected]! We'll figure it out.

Overnight Doula Services ("Night nurse")
Those first few weeks with a new baby can be very difficult for some. Many parents find it incredibly hard to function on very little sleep. On average, new parents lose 1 to 2 hours of sleep per night, but that's the average - some lose much more than that.
During overnight care:
* I'll take care of the baby for you - I'll handle diaper changes, soothing, feeding, or bringing the baby to you for feeding.
* I'll help with washing bottles/breast pump parts so they can be ready when you wake up.
* I'll take care of light baby-related tasks like washing and folding the baby's clothes, tiding up the baby's nursery, etc.
* I'll answer your questions about breastfeeding, bathing your baby, or any other questions you might have.
The rate for overnight support is $45 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours. Discounts available for bookings of 3 or more nights at once. Can be purchased as a gift card.
An additional travel fee will apply if you live further than 1.5 hrs away.

Postpartum Preparation
(around 2 hours total, can be broken into more than one session)
We can meet at your home (or other comfortable location), or online.
* You'll learn how to prepare for the special time postpartum - mind, body, and what to get ready in terms of equipment to make it easier.
* I'll share how to embrace this time and how to heal well and fast - there are very simple things that you can do and allow others to do for you to make sure that you heal well.
* I'll help you change your mindset about this time from what we hear about it online to believing it can be a comfortable and even joyful time, regardless of challenges, as well as preparing for what to do if you're having a hard time.
* We'll make a plan - what to get, what you'll need, what you won't need. How to make this time easier for yourself, and what to do if you won't have a support person physically.
* Recipes for healing meals - food can be medicine.
* You'll receive all the support you need, including just listening to you if this is what you need.
* My postpartum herbal tea blend - one of the ways to make sure you're nurtured during this time.
